Understand your Stache library, reading records and book information.

Your library in Stache

Stache is the reader-facing part of Athenaeum. Your library, reading activity and personal notes belong to Stache. Alexandria supplies shared book information. All products are In development; the following describes the intended reader workflow, not a guarantee of available controls in a released client.

Choose the right book

When adding a book, distinguish the written work from a specific edition. A translation, format or publication may have edition-specific details. Check the title, contributors and edition details rather than relying on a cover alone. Avoid creating another entry simply because a result takes time to load.

Keep personal records useful

Use reading records for your progress and notes for your own observations. Keep private comments out of requests to correct shared book information. Before a large import or library reorganization, ask your server administrator to confirm a current backup.

If an action fails, check whether it already completed before repeating it. When a client reports pending synchronization, preserve the local data until the server acknowledges the changes. Removing the app can remove unsynced records.

Find the right help

For device connections and offline considerations, see mobile setup. For missing or unexpected records, follow troubleshooting. Installation and server settings are covered in the administrator guides.
