Free Always Pledge

Athenaeum, Alexandria, and Stache are intended to remain free as in beer.

The project will not introduce:

• paid editions;
• feature paywalls;
• subscriptions;
• advertising;
• sale of user data; or
• a hosted commercial tier.

Voluntary donations may be accepted. Donations do not unlock features, priority, influence, promotion, recognition, or preferential treatment. Sponsorships and paid promotional arrangements are not accepted.

The source-code license remains undecided. This pledge concerns price and commercialization and does not itself select an open-source license.

The meaning of this pledge cannot be weakened or materially changed without an approved ADR and explicit owner approval.
