Troubleshooting

In development

Diagnose connection, data and synchronization problems safely.

Start with a small record of the problem

All products are In development. Release-specific diagnostics and support destinations will accompany approved releases. Record the product, installed versions, what you tried, what you expected and what happened. Use disposable data to reproduce a problem when possible.

Connection or login failures

Check the server address, network reachability, service startup and certificate validity. A phone cannot reach your server through the phone's localhost. Confirm client/server compatibility. Never disable authentication or certificate checks as a workaround.

Missing records or unexpected book details

Check whether you are looking at the intended account and edition. Shared book metadata comes from Alexandria; personal library state belongs to Stache. Preserve the original record and source information before trying corrections. After a timeout, check whether an action completed before repeating it.

Mobile synchronization problems

Note the last successful sync and any pending changes. Keep local data intact while investigating. Do not reinstall or clear storage before unsynced work is recovered. Compare device connectivity with the administrator's server checks.

Reporting and recovery

Redact passwords, tokens, private addresses, account details and personal notes from logs or screenshots. Share the minimum reproducible steps and relevant error message. For data loss or a failed upgrade, preserve the installation and backups before attempting repair. See backup and recovery, configuration and mobile setup.
